Lots of this comic is planned in advance, but a few months ago, I came up with this idea that Julius would be in a helmet that was deliberately designed to make him incomprehensible to the people around him. It changed how I did a lot of jokes.
Many of these jokes depend on your being able to guess what Julius is saying from context. In this case, it’s “Hipster Hitler?” I could see this being one of those jokes that’s only funny for me and a small group of others. In my experience, these jokes bore almost everyone and completely floor a very few people.
I’ll take that bet.
